A bit more about The Growth Factor Owner & Instructor

Denise began her career as a clinician, a pediatric speech-language pathologist working inschools and hospitals in Chicago. Early into her clinical career she realized, while she loved the clinical work, she also had developed an interest in the leadership and management side of education and healthcare. Denise found herself surprised with the expectation of both education and health professionals to provide services in a rapidly changing landscape without necessarily having the formal training or education in leadership and management. This curiosity led Denise to begin coursework at Northwestern University inthe Kellogg School of Management, studying management, leadership and organizationalbehavior. Since that time Denise has been leading and managing teams in both academicand corporate settings.

Between 2015 and today Denise has taught professional and management courses for both master’s level and doctoral level students at Northwestern University, both online and in the classroom. Teaching has provided Denise with the opportunity to inspire, motivate, engage, and educate future professionals to allow them the most success in navigating their careers.

After consistent feedback from adult learners saying "I wish I knew about leadership development earlier in my career" or "Why don't they teach leadership and business skills in high school?", Denise was inspired to make a difference with our next generation by expanding her reach to youth and young adults. Denise's love of teaching, coaching, and supporting young professionals in their development inspired the launch of The GrowthFactor in Summer 2021.
